I can assure you 100%ly nit. 1) trichy 2)warangal 3)rourkela 4)surthkal 5)nit nagpur6)MNIT Allhabad are the best nit with proof, some people astonished to see nit rourkela is at 3rd place .I agree that it is present in a remote area but not rural it is at highly developed urban .its infrastructure is best among all nit and second best among all nit,IIT ,iiit .Nit trichy has awesome staff and location is also good.As a student of NIT Rourkela ,I will explain something about nit rourkela.

        If you see in international activity than nit rourkela is the best .it is only nit which placed among top 500 university in world with few iit's. I think that's help .

•     FOOD- food of nit rourkela is pretty good ,if you are from Odisha,Bihar or from West Bengal it is heaven for you.Also for south Indians it is good.
• Academic- Yeah,Accademic of nit rourkela is pretty strict so you have to follow a decent study in order to acquire good cgpa.Also the attendance policy is very ridiculous.
• Enjoyment-You may face additional academic  pressure but nit Rourkela will give you a lot of fun with fest and DJ night
• Placement-Placement is very good in Nit Rourkela,mean nearly every student placed in company.Microsoft gives highest package of 42 lakhs to CS student .Average package varies from 6 to 15 lakh from branch to branch
